When I first started playing Dune: Awakening, I treated the sand like any other terrain. I thought, "Sure, there are worms, but how bad can they be?" Then I lost my entire inventory after being eaten for the second time in a row. Lesson learned: the sand is not your friend.

Sandworms are the deadliest force in the game. They don’t care about your armor, weapons, or level. If one catches you, it’s instant death — and unless it’s your first time dying that way, you lose your backpack forever. No respawn, no loot recovery. That hurts, especially after a long loot run buy Dune Awakening Solari.

So I changed the way I play. Now, I always treat the desert like enemy territory.

First tip: stick to the rocks. The game map is full of rocky areas, and these are safe zones where worms can’t reach you. Plan your routes between them, even if it takes longer. Trust me, five minutes extra walking is better than losing rare loot.

Second: avoid sprinting on the sand. The vibration meter increases faster when you run. Crouching makes much less noise and buys you more time. I only sprint when I know I’m close to safety.

Third: turn off your tech. Levitation devices, shields, and vehicles attract worms like magnets. You might think floating above the sand helps — it doesn’t. Worms will still come for you.

If you see a worm erupt from the sand, forget stealth — it already knows where you are. Run straight to rocks, don’t stop. The only goal is to reach solid ground before it catches up.

My favourite moment so far? I was looting a crashed ship when a worm spawned 200 meters away. I used my grapple hook (Trooper mentor bonus) to escape in the last second. Heart-pounding stuff buy Dune Awakening Items.

Surviving the worms isn’t just about reflexes — it’s about smart planning. Once you learn their patterns and weaknesses, they stop feeling unfair and start becoming part of the challenge. They’re terrifying, yes — but they make Dune: Awakening unforgettable. You can learn more now from u4gm.
