In PoE 2 0.3, choose a basic staff like a longstaff, bone staff, or similar two-handed staff and focus on buying spells. Don't think about higher-level items first. The important thing is not to spend too much money on expensive basics right from the start.

Once you have the White Staff in hand, you can modify it. Frequent use of the Polymorph Orb is crucial.
